A person’s happiness is directly proportional to his / her mind’s calm. As long as the mind is calm, the
person is happy. When there is some disturbances in the mind then the person looses happiness and tries to get the calmness
/ happiness and in the process end up in doing wrong to himself / herself or to others. When they do wrong things, they
get into troubles. When some people are into this the whole society is affected and government officers are brought in to
control but the actual control can be brought only when all people are able to control their senses with their mind .
In
our ancient days the main purpose of education is to get the peace of mind only. Now due to the scientific advances there
are lot of varieties of educations and there is nothing wrong in these education if they teach us the dharma and bring in
peace people’s mind. But actually the education has brought bad thoughts and desires in everybody’s mind.
The
real education is to realize the ATHMA. ATHMAGNAANAM is the real education. This real education will give the best thing in
this world. More than that nothing is in this world. Current education basically points towards earning money. Now since we
have started the western style of education, we have to be careful in our education. We should consider one’s athma
suthi, andharanga suthi, and discipline as the main criteria for our education. If we start practicing the western culture
then we would leave all our traditional things and whole bharatha matha will be suffering for this.
Education should give
one person control and modesty. But nowadays where we have more schools and colleges, we have more courts and police stations.
In the mountain area with all those uncivilized people there is no education and it seems they are more decent than those
who are educated here. It is really funny to have more courts and police stations where more schools and colleges are built.
Basic things of good habits and control of senses are not there. In the early days, when there were gurukulams, the relation
between teacher and student were very high. The students will go and good food for guru by yaasagam. But nowadays the students
are threatening the teachers and teachers are coming to school with money oriented. The studies and education are same
as earlier but the way of having education is changed. The style of teaching is changed.
